Claire has been qualified as a body therapist since 2003. Post university she worked in sports production in TV and charity. Following her interest in sport, movement and alternative therapies she trained, in holistic massage in London (at the Holistic School of Massage). She went on to specialise in maternity and baby massage (training with the highly respected Suzanne Yates, Well Mother). In addition she qualified in Indian Head Massage.
Having enjoyed her work as a massage therapist Claire wanted to expand her repertoire. In 2012 she trained (at the European College of Bowen Studies) as a Bowen Technique therapist, a training that has been wide and extensive, including dissection work. It has allowed her to expand her knowledge and expertise and seen her work with the very young and very old, thanks to it being a subtle and sensitive technique.
Over the years she has treated a wide variety of people and problems both professionally and privately at home with her three sons. She has worked privately, in clinics, offices, with community groups, charities, a gynaecologist and has organised complementary therapy events. She offers treatments from her home in South Cambridgeshire and also works weekly at the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre in Shelford, where she is also a trustee.
Claire believes in keeping active so much of her treatment is enticing the clients to take care of themselves off the couch. She offers postural and exercise advice having qualified with The Bowen College UK in a specific Exercise and Rehabilitation course. Combining exercises and stretches with the Bowen Technique gives the clients even better results.
Continual Practise Development
Claire is continually expanding her knowledge and attends one or two weekend courses a year. Recently these have included Cranio-Bowen, Spine and Back pain and Exercise and Rehabilitation. She is constantly studying and exploring new ideas and techniques to enhance her practise.
